Dear GIMP users!

It appears that GIMP 2.4 supports direct use of brushes in .abr format (see this LiveJournal entry for details: community.livejournal.com/psto…. This means that you should now be able to use Photoshop brushes without converting them at all. I don't know how much need for updates to this account there will be now; of course all the already converted brushes in here will stay available.
This account is a collection of GIMP brushes created by various brushmakers for PS. They have been converted to GIMP format and posted here with the permission of the original creators by members of the pstogimpbrushes LiveJournal community. All updates here are posted there as well; the community has tags that might allow you to find brushes by a specific creator or with a specific subject, and you can even make requests for brushes to be converted.

Please do not make requests for converting on this page or by sending a note; they will usually be ignored. Go to the LiveJournal post linked above, read the instructions and leave a comment there. We seldom check the comments to this Deviantart account.

Feedback is welcome, as is a pointer if something should be amiss with a brushset. As for installing the brushes, please read the instructions given in each submission first; if you can't install the brushes following these instructions, feel free to ask by comment or note. However, general GIMP questions are somewhat Off Topic here and might not be answered, as this place has a very specific purpose.

If any of you have an LJ account, you should join my community, PSTOGIMPBRUSHES, which is located here.  You can search through the tags for specific types, sizes, or brush creators.
